Summer is almost here and Le Bruit is gearing up for the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes (June 28-July 5). We are plotting and scheming for the band lab class (spoiler alert: fans of the Big Band sound of Les Montagnards Laurentiens and Jos Bouchard, this is your chance to wail!). We can’t wait!
In August, Le Bruit will be staffing at Souches à l’oreille Camp in Québec Aug. 27-30. Situated in beautiful St-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska, QC, this week-end camp is organized by the friendly folks who bring you Tidal Wave (Rachel Aucoin, Sabin Jacques). Send Rachel an e-mail if you have questions–she is perfectly bilingual and really friendly!
Can’t make these camps? Here are a couple of additional opportunities: Lisa will be heading to Vermont in July 10-12 for the Northern Roots Weekend (looks like they’re almost full to brim, but there might be a few places left). This lovely week-end camp is organized by Keith Murphy and Becky Tracy in Dummerston, VT. Lisa will also be teaching at the Swannanoa Fiddle Week in Asheville, NC. Aug. 2-8.
Le Bruit is also going to be touring in northern New England August 30-Sept. 6, beginning with an August 30th concert in Fort Kent, ME and ending with appearances at the World Music Festival in Randolph, VT. More about these dates soon!
